ESPOJAM
Exposure Assessment to RF EMF generated by military jammer
The project aims to characterize the military exposure to jammer systems emitting high-power radiofrequency (RF) electromagnetic fields (EMF). A computational approach, based on both deterministic and stochastic techniques and which consists of the integration of high resolution human body models and EMF source models in a computational electromagnetic platform, allows to identify the dosimetric quantities (Specific Absorption Rate- SAR that is the electromagnetic power absorbed by the human tissues) characterizing the EMF exposure.
These parameters are then used to design and realize an exposure system for the in vitro exposure of cell cultures to assess possible biological effects associated to the RF human exposure to military jammers.
PARTNERS & CNR-IEIIT ROLE
Partners: CNR IEIIT (coordinator), CNR IASI.
IEIIT characterizes, through the use of computational electromagnetic techniques, the military personnel exposure to jammer systems emitting high-power radio frequencies (RF). Moreover, IEIIT designs and realizes an exposure system for the in vitro biological experiments.
