Vittorio Rampa became Researcher at the National Research Council of Italy (CNR) in 1986. In 1999-2014, he was Adjunct Professor at Politecnico di Milano (POLIMI) teaching courses on software defined radios, and radio communication/navigation systems. In 2001, he became Senior Researcher. In 2006-2014, he co-founded Wisytech Srl, a CNR-POLIMI spin-off, serving as CTO. Since 2018, he is member of the Steering Committee GTTS-4 of the National Cluster Fabbrica Intelligente. Since 2023, he is Senior Associate.
Vittorio Rampa received the Dott. Ingegneria Elettronica degree (with honors) from the Politecnico di Milano (POLIMI), Milano, Italy, in 1984. In 1986, he joined the Consiglio Nazionale delle Ricerche (CNR) as Researcher. From 1999 to 2014, he has been Adjunct Professor at the Politecnico di Milano where he taught courses on software defined radio algorithms and architectures, and radio communication and navigation systems. From 2001 to 2022, he has been Senior Researcher at the Institute of Electronics, Computer, and Telecommunication Engineering (CNR-IEIIT). In 2006, he co-founded the CNR-POLIMI spin-off Wisytech Srl where, till 2014, he served as CTO. Since 2018, he is member of the Steering Committee GTTS-4 of the National Cluster Fabbrica Intelligente. He served also as Coordinator for the Milan unit of CNR-IEIIT during the 2011-2015 and 2020-2021 periods. Since 2023, he is Senior Research Associate at the CNR-IEIIT.
His research interests include signal processing algorithms and architectures for wireless communications, machine/deep learning tools for sensing applications, wireless sensor networks for IoT applications, radio vision techniques for detection and localization of people and objects, and for activity/intention recognition of people, development of body models for radio passive sensing, federated learning algorithms for cooperative and green applications, virtual instrumentation techniques for test and verification of wireless systems.
