Illuminatori d’Antenna a Radio-Frequenza (RF) con Integrazione di Funzioni RF, Meccaniche e Termiche (AMLETO)
Antenna feeds for satellite telecommunications, in most cases, consist of several functional elements that consist of multiple mechanical parts due to their complexity. In addition to radio-frequency constraints, there are also mechanical and thermal requirements that need to be incorporated into the design, for example, mounting brackets and thermal radiators. These constraints add more complexity and further increase the number of parts in the design. This project investigates new approaches for the design of complex RF feeds for telecommunication missions that can benefit from the large degree of freedom provided by additive manufacturing. The objective of the activity is to develop and test an almost monolithic breadboard of a complex, thermally stable, high power RF feed chain with its support structure.
